Prostatitis: Treatment And Results

In most cases, the etiology, pathogenesis and the pathophysiology of prostatitis are unknown. Acute bacterial prostatitis is a well-defined infectious disease of the lower urinary tract. Chronic prostatitis can be caused by possible infectious and noninfectious prostatic inflammation. Acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis can be successfully treated with antimicrobial agents however the results are not the same in treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis.Keywords: Prostatitis, abacterial, chronicTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2005, 1(1):12-14
