Ktp Laser ın The Treatment Of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

“Greenlight” photoselective vaporization of prostate is a procedure that can be performed safely as a day case surgery, without the need for postoperative cathatere in selected cases and minimal postoperative complications. Literature review revealed that KTP laser technique was effective in reducing lower urinary tract symptoms in patients with BPH. Our results to date in more than 500 patients have been remarkable. Our observation in 18 month period in 40 patients indicates that 80 W KTP laser vaporization prostatectomy is safe and effective technique. However, as with a new technique, despite early promising results longer follow-up and a larger cohort are needed to validate these findings.Keywords: Prostate, prostatectomy, laserTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2006, 2(4):1-5
