Long Term Medical Complications
Dr. Mustafa YURTKURANa
aNefroloji BD, Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, BURSA Most of the patients were lost because of infections in early stages in years that first renal transplant attempts were made. In the preceeding years these rates have decreased to 1-2% by the help of rapid and high sensitive tests, drugs and preventive methods for infections that were developed for diagnosis and treatment. As infective deaths have decreased, cardiovascular disease has become relatively more common as a cause of death. After 10 years of post-transplantation, neoplasia become an important factor for mortality and morbidity. Keywords: Renal transplantation, cardiovascular disease, infections, neoplasiaTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2006, 2(21):64-69
