Retroperitoneal Procedures At Benign Kidney Ailments
Dr. Levent ÖZKAN,a Dr. Oğuz ACARa
aÜroloji AD, Kocaeli Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, KOCAELİ In urology, retroperitoneal procedures are increasingly accepted and administered. Retroperitoneal surgery can be administered for malignant as well as benign pathologies (pyeloplasty, decortication of renal cysts, simple nephrectomy, stone surgery, etc.). This method, which has specific technical difficulties, however, has some advantages, such as no entrance to the intraperitoneal area and therefore lack of intraperitoneal organ complications, and less post-operative pain. Currently several centers prefer this technique as the standart procedure. Present paper deals with benign pathologies which can be operated by retroperitoneal entrance technique, based on the current literature. Keywords: Laparoscopy; kidney; nephrectomyTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(4):49-53
