Pelvic Organ Prolapse (pop) And The Role Of The Laparoscopic Sacrocol-popexy In Pop Treatment

aÜroloji AD, İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi, İSTANBUL The aim of the laparoscopic transperitoneal sacrocolpopexy which is performed for the treatment of pelvic organ prolpase (POP) is to fix the anterior and posterior vaginal wall with a synthetic material to the sacral promontorium. The high success rates of the open technique is the reason for the application of the laparoscopy. Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of POP. However in order to perform this operation, the surgeon should know the anatomy of the pelvic region, be experienced about the pelvic floor disorders like urinary incontinence, and exceed the basic education on laparoscopic training.Keywords: Laparoscopy; cystoceleTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(4):92-96
