Retroperitoneoscopic Radical/partial Nephrectomy

Current indications of retroperitoneoscopy includes a broad spectrum of oncologic and reconstructive surgeries. The improvement of the technique of laparoscopic radical and partial nephrectomy over the past decade made the retroperitoneoscopic procedures an oncologically safe and effective. Although retroperitoneoscopy is technically challenging, it is a standardized and transferable procedure. However, both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal techniques are complementary and should have a place in the armamentarium of every laparoscopist with their specific indications.Keywords: Laparoscopy; kidney neoplasmsTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(4):117-120
